MG MGB Technical - front muffler inlet/outlet size
My front muffler got severely crimped on a speed bump recently. I want to try a lower profile cherry bomb type glass pack before going the straight pipe route. Am I correct that the inner diameter of the inlet/outlet of the front muffler is 2 inches?

Steven, If it is stock, I think it is less than 2 inches. I increased mine to 2 in, but I don't remember what it was when stock. Charley

I believe that the original exhaust system is 1 3/4" OD. I've been running a Falcon Big Bore stainless system, for over 20 years, with no center muffler and it is 1 7/8" OD. RAY

Thanks for the info. Also confirmed from another source that the oem pipe is 1 3/4 inches OD. I bought a Thrush 24210 glass pack that is 3 inches OD. Allot more ground clearance than the oem muffler and should be a little quieter than a straight pipe.
