MG MGB Technical - Engine Number

Hi All

My engine number is 18GBUH41133, indicating that it is a 1964.

I cannot find the place to fit the tachometer cable on the engine, have a feeling it is a 1967. Is there any other way I can determine if it is a 1967 engine?

In front of the right motor mount, under the generator, is a mark that is cast into the block. It resembles a clock and will tell you the year, month and the day that the engine block was cast. A GB preference would indicate that you do indeed have a '67 engine. RAY
