MG MGB Technical - Clutch Lever Part Numbers
Can someone tell me the part numbers that are cast on the MGB clutch operating levers (forked levers)? Not the BMC catalogue numbers, but the numbers actually cast on the item. I require the numbers for the levers from both the 3 synchro and 4 synchro gearboxes. Mick

Mick On my 3 syncro gearbox clutch fork there a 2 sets of numbers. One set on each side. one is 22B57 followed by an A inside a triangle the other is WH3-737 When I look up the factory part number it is 22B56 Hope that helps Kent

Kent, Thanks for that. It was what I was after. It is interesting that many BMC items have a number cast on them that is one digit different from the catalogue part number. This is not always the case, sometimes the number cast on the part is the same as the catalogue part number. The theory (only a theory) is that if a part was cast or forged by an outside supplier BMC held the item at the factory under the casting number. When fully machined it was given a catalogue number one digit different. This was because BMC would have had stock of both items. If the item was fully made at all stages by BMC the casting number and the catalogue number were the same, as only one item was held in stock. Mick
