MG MGB Technical - Clock not working

Trying to take the clock out of the dashboard - but cannot seem to do it. I have removed the bracket but what does one do next?
Probably a simple solution but I cannot fathom it! Have the Haynes and Brooklands manual but I have a 1977 US model, so no dashboard drawing and instructions included - there appears to be a complete metal board with cups for the gauges behind the pvc dash - but how does one remove the clock (and other gauges for that matter) from this type of dashboard?
Any suggestions much appreciated

If it had a metal securing bracket, I can only guess that it stuck with a decomposed rubber seal.

The bracket is removed so I have to push or pull it out then?

Yep, decomposed rubber would be my guess, you can try easing it with a thin blade, but it should wiggle and push out.

Some of the instruments on that year model require rotating counter clockwise about 30 degrees then they come out. I don't recall if that applies to the clock or not. Removing your speedometer will give you easier access to the clock. The clock is a sealed unit and the glass and bezel can't be easily removed. There is no "cup" behind the clock, just the bracket then disconnect power and pull out the lamp.
