MG MGB Technical - burning rubber smell when turning to the right

I get a burning rubber smell when making right turns or going around right hand corners.
Does not seem to do it when going straight or turning left.
This is on a 79 MGB.
I just recently replaced the rear leaf springs. That job went well except the car sits a lot higher in the rear then it did before

I pulled the car up on ramps but can not see any rubber burning and cant smell it while underneath.

On a side note I am hearing a rocker ticking. Can someone give me the adjustment spec please

Any advise will be really appreciated

OK I found where I did the lifters back in 2003 on the same car.

The burning rubber smell is most probably being caused by the left-hand (when viewed from the rear) rear tyre fouling on the wheel arch. Look for scoring on the outer wall of the tyre and also you'll probably find burnt rubber on the wheel arch lip. All MGBs suffer from rear angle offset with a bias towards the left-hand side. You may be able to cure it by grinding a couple of mm off the inner lip of the wheel arch. I had a similar problem on mine ( I still do if I corner hard) and found there were a couple of spot welds from an earlier repair. I ground these off and 1-2mm off the wheel arch lip.

Thank you Mike
I'm not sure whet you referring to as the wheel arch.
Are you talking about the inside fender?
