MG MGB Technical - Boot badge position

I am now trying to find out exactly where the chrome boot badges go on a Roadster. Steve has given me some figures but they differ from one of the restoration books.

Perhaps a couple of you with original boot lids could do a measure for me from the top?

Colin on my 67 Roadster the measurement from the top edge of the boot to the center of the MGB badge bar is: 14 3/16" and to the center of the Octagon is 17 3/8". The Octagon measures 4" from top to bottom, outside measurement. Sorry we're still in good old feet and inches over here.

Andy, thanks for that. I prefer feet and inches. It must be my age!!!

That fits in with a couple of others, so the holes are now drilled!!

The boot lid i took it off of is from my MGC but it is a new heritage one so the previous owner must have measured and drilled in the wrong postion.
