MG MGB Technical - Battery Cover Seal - Silly Question

As always, it eventually gets down to the minutia.

Does the foam gasket seal between the battery boxes and the battery cover get glued to the shelf or to the cover?

I glued mine to the cover and it works well there.

I glued mine to the shelf with an "Instant" type adhesive in 2003 and it's still in place.
Hence it is your choice !

My '67 came from the factory with the seal glued to the shelf. That's where it still is today. RAY

I've glued mine to the cover as it is then out of the way when you are working on the batteries.
