| Does one need shorter straps for just 1 inch or so lowering? Mike |

| If the axle has the same amount of vertical movement but it is closer to the car body than originally, then the bump-stops, check straps and damper drop-links need to be changed as required to prevent the damper topping/bottoming and to maintain the suspension range. If the springs are simply flattened to bottom sooner then they don't. 'Ware replacement straps from the usual suspects, they are more like elastic bands. Barely 1cm of stretch in old rubbers with obvious reinforcing, over 3cm in new with no visible reinforcing. Michael Beswick sent me some reinforcers made from parcel strapping, see http://www.mgb-stuff.org.uk/axletext.htm#reboundstraps |
