MG MGB Technical - '72 Roadster - temperature gauge
| I've just tried to test my temperature gauge before installation and hope I've done something wrong because I got very little movement. This gauge is the non-electric type. I dipped the bulb sensor into a kettle and heated the water; no electrics etc, just laying on the bench. Does the 'little movement' mean the gauge/pipework has failed or have I done the wrong test? |

| Solved it!! It seems that when I replaced the chrome bezel I had inadvertently rotated the glass and the gauge face. Close inspection showed the stems of the needles were then slightly rubbing against the edges of the holes in the face and stopping the temperature needle rotating. The kettle test then works fine. Phew!! That's saved me about £65! |
