MG MGB Technical - 71 MGB Dash

The dash in my 71 is not great. Has anyone stripped off the padding, added a glove box and door and repainted? Sound feasible?

I chose to replace the dash pad on my '72 bgt -- not an easy job! You can expect the metal backing behind the dash pad to look pretty scruffy so you will need to clean that up (and maybe media blast) prior to painting if you will not be recovering the metal backing.

Not sure if your proposal would look very attractive.

I have recently repainted my dashboard with the black crinkle paint you can buy from Moss, it came up as good as new and the paint wasn't expensive.
