MG MGB Technical - 67 tunnel
I'd like some opinions on this tunnel. It seems to have been extended by about 2", the cosmetic appearance is that is was done a very long time ago, although the quality of the welding isn't that good. The body has has a lot of repairs elsewhere, but this definitely seems to pre-date those by a long way. Would this be done to fit a different engine/gearbox?

That is exactly what I did when I fitted my all synchro OD gear box in my narrow transmission tunnel car. I will say mine was neater because I joined 2 of the covers together needing only one weld.

Thanks Ian, I've since been reminded that it has a 74 engine and gearbox so that would explain it.

A common adaptation, when installing a 4 synchro trans into an earlier 3 synchro car. RAY

I must have a close look at mine - '67 with a '72 engine and 'box.
