MG MGB Technical - 1969 MGB GT - Pillow Dash Remove/Refit
| I own a 1969 MGB GT. I have purchased a replacement "Pillow dash" for my car. Any particular issues or problems I should know about prior to starting the removal and fitment of the new dash. |

| JC, Having just done this, I would recommend that you pull out the seats and remove the stearing wheel to gain access. Remove the radio console. Disconnect the cable at the heater valve at the engien and the air dampener behind the radio console, and disconnect the choke cable. Then remove the upper nuts along the top edge of the dash. Start on the passenger side to gain experience. There also may be two phillips head screws holding the dash in place about midway across on each side. Disconnect the trip meter cable nut and allow the cable to dangle loose. Pop the dash up and pull the top towards you and disconnect the electrical connections. That should do it. warmly, Dave |
