MG MGB Technical - 18V water flow direction

Which way does water flow through the 18V: out the hot water valve to the heater then from heater to the lower radiator hose? Also, what opening is the heater inlet: the high or low opening?

1) correct
2) hose goes straight back and up from heater valve, other one comes forward and up a bit to pipe.
