MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Why LS1 will not work

I found a good picture of the LS1, it has a "protruberance" on the driver side of the block/oilpan that would want to reside in what is the frame rail area of most cars. This would keep it out of the engine bays of uour little cars.

Pete,
You have a picture of what youre refering to? Care to post it? The pics I have of the LS1 lead me to believe that it is possible and even rather straightforward. Ill see if I can post my DS photo.

Check out the Novemeber issue of SUPER ROD magazine for an interestng article on swapping to a carburetor on the LS1, It also makes comments on the oil pan problems when fitting into a small engine bay.

The picture I refer to is from Super Rod magazine. However, I have since found other images that do not show the protruding casting, on other engines.
