MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - What oil?

What oil should i be using in my 3.5 Rover V8?

As i'm almost ready to finally fire it up as the conversion is finally nearing the end - presently looking like this,

Looking very much as though it was ment to be.
The Coil might get a bit hot if you intend leaving it there.
I'm using castrol, Magnatec. I'm probably wasting my money because there is a strong case for using cheaper oil and changing often, every 3000 (which I'm not), because these engines are apparently prone to sludge buildup.
If the engine has just been rebuilt then you should use a 'running in' oil from castrol or penrite for 500 miles. Then (according to Rogers book) change oil (and filter) at 500, 3000 and 6000 miles using a good mineral oil like Pennrite Classic 20W/50.
Don't forget to fill your filter with oil and pack the oil pump with grease prior to the initial turn of the key.
I actualy gave mine a cautious crank over before putting the plugs in, on general principles and particularly just to see the oil pressure start to come up.
