MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Vancouver All British - MGC V8
| Spent the day at the Vancouver car show yesterday in the best park-like setting I know for such things. Took a Jensen Interceptor and an MGA coupe. I had a chance to chat with people I normally see but once a year, and look at all manner of cars (over 500) including a excellent selection of modified cars. And who should win that class, but Bob Elwin, with his 302 engined MGC, and a very attractive set of headers it had indeed. I'll probably lose my standing in the MGC Preservation Society for saying this, but I have to agree that if you want to install a cast iron V8 in an MG, the MGC is definitely the best choice. The length is already there in the engine room, and the weight issue is easy to take into account with a simple adjustment of the torsion bars (in the case of the 302, lowering the car as it weighs less than the 6 cylinder did). Hmm, Bob, if you installed a new Chrysler Hemi, could you have left the ride height as it was...... |

| and the rear end is correct, the wheels are a better sizing and the brakes are also upgraded. this would make the best option for sure, ohh, lets not forget the bonnet also. jim |
