MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - V8 vent?
| Evening Gents I have a V8 MGB with the 3.5 Range Rover engine. At the back of the block just below the manifold bottom there is a 90 degree vent pipe with a piece of tube coming up from it with a bolt sealing it. This is a exit from the area above the cam shaft and cam followers area, below the manifold. Should this be left like this, should I seal it up or should it be fitted with a vent? Was this previously a connection to a rocker cover? Any help would be appreciated. Regards Davce Tetlow |

| It depends on which rocker covers you are using. That is the crankcase breather air inlet on old engines, SD1 and later had the breather filter on the rocker cover so if you are using the original covers you should fit a filter where the bolt is now but if you have SD1 (flat top) covers or some other arrangement for clean air to enter the engine leave it blanked off.
