MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Update on Exhaust Coating
| Just an update to my earlier post. I finally got some of this stuff: http://www.camcoat.u-net.com./Coatings.htm I spent hours cleaning the headers, and it all went well unitl the coating clogged up my spray gun half way through the first header. As it dries in a few minutes and you can't put a second coat on I was a bit arrghhh! In the end I brushed it on, its probably too thick, althoguh the suppliers said it can be brushed, and I'm not happy with the finish - it's a bit streaky. I also bought two tins (pricey stuff) but ended up using less than half a tin - the rest will be going on ebay. Still, I managed to fit them in the oven to cure them and they are on the car now. As another poster commented, it's hard to clean up afterwards, I just binned everything I had used. As with so many jobs on this car, my mental image of how I want it to end up is nowehere near the end result! Time will tell if it stays on. Thanks for all the input. Liam |
