MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Temp gauge

Can anyone tell me what I am to with the temp sensor end of my CB temp/oil gauge? It is not the newer electric gauge.

I have the oil pressure side of things worked out, but is there some where on the SD1 lump where the sensor can go. Is it supposed to be a straight screw in swap for the original electric sensor?

Liam,
I have a JWR inlet on my engine and fitted the sender unit to the whole in front of it, next to the thermostat housing. After buying some fittings from a DIY store it was an easy job.
