MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Starter heat shield
| What have the group done to protect the starter and solenoid from the exhaust manifold heat - assuming block hugger manifolds. Have you used a 'hard' item which bolts to the mounting, or a heat shield/insuation wrap, or have you not done anything? How has it worked for you? |

| Before I switched to RV8 style manifolds, I used an ally shield from Clive Wheatley, and lagged the downpipe as well (plumbers fibreglass woven lagging tape is cheapest......as used by TVR here. Mike |

| A year ago I draped a piece of that shiny thermal cloth over the starter, it improved hot starting fantastically and is still there! Andy |
