MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Scatter Shields for Safety
| Having seen the results of a few broken flywheels, and noting where the flywheel is in relation to our legs on these conversions, has anyone tried fitting a scatter shiled (explosion proof bellhousing?) How did it fit? Pete |

| I've never seen a broken flywheel but did see the results of a very impressive clutch explosion. It was on a C Altered (injected hemi) race car in the early 70's with an explosion proof bellhousing but it still ruined the bellhousing. I expect that you can get something from Lakewood or others for the Ford 302 conversion but it will probably we much more difficult to get one for the Rover conversion. I think that kevlar blankets are available for auto transmissions but not sure if they will offer enough protection for a clutch/flywheel explosion. |
