MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - RV8 discs on ebay
See http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ROVER-MGR-V8-ROVER-800-INC-TURBO-NEW-BRAKE-DISCS-PAIR_W0QQitemZ4613554386QQcategoryZ10414QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem for what are said to be over 300 pairs of RV8 discs at a Buy it Now price of £19.99. (They also state that these fit the Rover 800 so I wonder if they really are RV8 discs). Anyway, there was a very recent thread "RV8 discs with princess calipers?" where the question was asked whether RV8 discs would be a straight swap onto MGB hubs. As far as I can see this wasn't exactly answered - does anyone know the definitive answer so I don't have to bother getting Peugeot 505 discs redrilled to go with my 4 pot calipers? (and at 1/3 the price for the discs alone).

Steve, RV8 discs are too small in diameter and have an incorrect offset; they won’t fit the MGB hub. Geoff

Hello I bought these which seem to be the same thing. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4614763410&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 But having received them they do not fit on my MGB stub axles (which I was led to believe they would). Basically I am trying to establish if these are incorrectly advertised as RV8 discs (they are identified as Rover 800 on the box) or whether they are correct and that RV8 discs do not fit MGB stubs. Chris.

Chris, As I said before, RV8 discs are too small in diameter and have an incorrect offset; they won’t fit the MGB hub. The RV8 stub axle is not the same as the MGB. Geoff
