MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Rover intake gasket
Hi all I am trying to find out what the thickness measurement is, for the Rover V8 composite intake manifold gasket?

bill - if you mean the gasket between inlet manifold and intermediate manifold holding the SUs - there was no gasket - at least not on the GTV8. HTH Roger

Roger, I believe Bill is referring to the valley pan gasket which the GTV8 did have, along with all the other GM/Rover 215 based motors. It is required because the intakes do not seal the top of the block. The later Rovers replaced the metal valley pan gasket with a composite part which may be a better seal. I have used both and see no real performance difference, but, sorry to say, do not know the thickness.

Yes, Jim is correct. The valley pan/intake gasket. Since I need one anyway, I ordered one from D+D today. I was curious as to what the thickness difference is between the Rover gasket and the Felpro one.
