MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Roller rockers on Ebay
| I was still trying to find anything out about these and they were sold (in like 6 hours or less). Has anyone here heard of these or have any comments on them? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=011&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3APIC&viewitem=&item=320056348513&rd=1,1 Richard |

| Thanks for finding some info on them. I had looked but found only websites not finished... Other than the neat factor and reduced wear on the valve stems, these don't appear to offer any significant advantage. I was also worried about them fitting under the Buick style rocker covers I am using. Also, it wasn't apparent if they required different pushrrods. On the other hand, I like the ability to adjust the lifters (which actually don't require it). Also, according to the Rover performance books, the rocker shaft will likely fail if subjected to 5500 rpm on a steady diet. On my car, I have yet to have the rockers or shafts fail (6000 - 6500 rpm shifts when desired). I did have to replace an Isky lifter within 100 miles or new. I also tried shorter pushrods (8.000 chevy's) but it was a little light on preload, so I put the stock pushrods back in and shimmed the pedestals up .007 inches. Next time I have the valve covers off, I am taking the shims off as it still seems a little noisy. So, I feel that not buying these for $800.00 was the correct thing to do. Anyone have an opinion? |
