MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Reduced Castor

I have just spotted on the V8 register that Brown and Gammons have produced their own caster reducing kit, which would appear to have advantages over the frontline kit,and at £29.95 is considerably cheaper.

With no picture, I wonder what it consists of?

Just put a couple of big washers on the front bolt. Or a square bit of metal with a hole drilled in it. The cross member sites on the four square rubber 'bushes' anyway so there is no need of a continious wedge. The rubber will compress a little and take up any angle slack.
Personally I like the feel of MGB steering as is.

From reading the blurb on the V8 register the main difference is, that because the bolts that hold the crossmember in place have shoulders to locate them correctly and only allow the correct amount of compression of the mounting pads that when you fit the wedges the shoulders do not locate properly into the chassis legs. The B&G kit has shouldered sleeves that fit over the bolts so that they will still locate properly with the wedges in place, they also provide a modified lock nut for the front bolts.

My '75 has big nylox nuts on both ends of each closely fitting "bolt". As far as I am able to tell if you ignore the torque wrench setting you can tighten these things up until the rubber (or in my case polyethyene) queezes out the sides. I might have missed somthing though.
