MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - New Coil over Front Suspension.

At long last I gave downloaded a photo sharing facility and have taken a couple of shots of the refurbed crossmember, with the Moss coilover suspension installed. I am also fitting the B&G castor reduction kit, The small album also shows some early pitures of the car, when we were doing the Rover V8 conversion and shows the RV8 manifolds in place, the brakes have also been upgraded to 4 pot calipers and V8 discs.
Hope the link works.

Kevin,

I have an early versions of the coilover kit. I was curious which brand of shock was included in your kit and whether there are any part numbers on the shock.

When did you purchase the kit? I'm curious because I may be interested in updating the shocks to the newer version and wanted to know what's offered in the UK.

Thanks

Sliedavs,

Sorry to take so long to reply, reason is I'm not sure what make the dampers/shocks are. Did have a look before I assembled the system but could not see any obvious brand marks,I am going to take them out to install the Brown and Gammons castor kit so will take another look. All I can tell you at the moment is that they appear to be of a very high quality from the finish of the alloy castings of the main damper body which has a good polished finish and more important seem to have a good range of adjustment, with the recommended setting for fast road use being 3.5 turns from minimum, suggesting that they will not be too hard and that there is still scope to soften them if required. The kit I have is unused but a few years old so may not be the same as current units being offered. If I find out anymore will post the results.

Kevin,

Thanks for the response. I have an older version of the kit with a different shock. If you were able to shoot a close-up photo of the shock, I'd really appreciate it.

Feel free to contact me by email if you prefer.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

I will take some more pics of the damper units when I have them off the crossmember, I'd like to know who the manufacturer is anyway.
