MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Lower radiator hose
I have a 74 radster with a Rover 4.2 (EFI), buick front cover with buick 300 water pump and Mustang rad (set about 4" forward of the sway bar with 1 1/2" top and 1 3/4" bottom connections, both on the passenger side (LHD). Also, remote Oil filter and I have an alternator on the passenger (A/C car) so I have a fan belt to get around. Any suggestions for lower hose, especially getting around the fan belt without compromising the oil hoses? I have researched the archives and none of the ones suggested work. The guy at Napa is getting fed up with me continually changing out hoses, so I need to get it right next time. Regards Tony

I used sections of two different hoses coupled together with a piece of sink drain pipe. I wasn't the first to do it this way. It works. Curtis got a pretty good shot of it here: http://www.britishv8.org/MG/CarlFloyd/CarlFloyd-D.jpg

Hi Carl, The sink pipe is my plan also. The challenge I face is where your ink pie is there are two oil hoses so the hose coming out of the water pump needs to "wrap around" the fan belt and then drop down to the rad. Regards Tony

Mines a range rover front, a bit different however same fan belt proximity issue. Orrigionaly I had a rubber hose, but at high rev's the fan belt started to cut a hole in it. I now have a longish piece of polished stainless exhaust pipe and a couple of bits of radiator hose bit either end. Doesn't look bad, and is fan belt proof.
