There is a marine version of the 1800 that was Diesel
this must be it the valve cover amd thermo housing are clearly the same as a B. Just think a MG that was ment to burn oil...

Back in 1984 i bought a brand new Freight rover sherpa pickup that had the 1800 diesel engine.
Top speed was 65mph very very noisey.
Not my choice of engine.
