MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Ignition Timing
| Mike, Here's the link. http://www.britishv8.org/Articles/Rover-14CUX-EFI.htm The standard Lucas distributors have advance curves which are not particularly ideal even for a standard V8 idealy you want approx 10 degrees at 1000RPM and all in at 36 degrees(for a 3.5) by 3-3500 RPM and 32 degrees for 3.9. also the standard vacuum advance cans give far too much advance, around 18 degrees when 5 degrees would be much better. Try diconnecting the vacuum and see if that cures the problem, I run without vaccumm advance but have recurved the distributor. Good luck, Kevin. |
