MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - ID weird engine number

Hello all,
I'm trying to ID my engine.
Number 537DXXXXXB
It's the 5 that's got me perplexed. Not a mention anywhere on the net.
The 37D indicates that it is a 3.9
However it has the longer nosed crank It appears to be internaly balanced and has the pads for cross bolting but no cross bolts.
My objective (or rather hope) is to learn if it has the cross bolt type bearing caps and the larger 4.0 style journals. That way I can cross bolt easily and instal a stroker kit.
