MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Hot Coil and lost firing
| I was checking some wiring today and left the key on for about a hour or so and did not know it and went back to crank it and would not fire. The first four times it started firing right away as this is a new rebuild. The coil was so hot when I touched it burnt my finger. The worst part was it would not fire up. Not sure if I burnt up the pentronix and wanted to see if anyone experienced this. I guess the best option would be to pull a plug and see if it is firing. Not sure if you can destroy a coil, but it sure was HOT!!! Any suggestions??? |

| When my MGB shut down on the road, the coil was burning hot. A new coil fixed it. You can wait to see if cooling off helps. Probably needs just a coil. Also check to see if the coil is 12 volt or needs to run with a resister. Good Luck Steve |
