MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Here's a hard question to ask
Hi chaps, Do you think ebay has now surpassed specialist classic car mags for exposure when selling a MGB V8? Best, Liam

I'm not sure, but I'd think so. Two reasons, first is that you get almost instant posting of your ad, rather than wait months for it to appear in a magazine. Secondly, people who are looking at e-bay ads are probably more viable as buyers than those that are just skimming through a magazine. I know that I often look at the cars for sale in Classic and Sports Car because it's just there and it's nice to keep track of the prices, but I don't surf e-bay because I'm not in the market for a car right now.

If I were selling my MGB V8, I'd definitely start by posting a free online classified ad here: (a) http://forum.britishv8.org/list.php?11 and here: (b) http://www.v8register.net/subpages/MGV8forsalerevised.htm Personally, I'd try to sell the car locally too. You only need one buyer, right? So long as you get a fair price, I would think a local buyer would be hugely preferable because it's less hassle to arrange the transfer.

Does this mean you are selling your car Liam? Mike

Hi Mike I wondered how long before you or Geoff popped up! I'm thinkng about it. I'm considering either a)roadster conversion b)taking on part finished kit of my neighbours and putting a V8 into it, or c) buying a mini digger (don't ask!). I'm itching to start doing something. Admiring it doesn't let me get my hands dirty and when you do a conversion on a restored shell everything is new, so there's no tinkering to be had afterwards! You've seen it - how much do think it's worth Mike? Liam
