MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Fuel tank pickup

I wonder if anyone can tell me the thread type on the fuel tank pickup. I'm referring to the pickup tube that came with the newer baffle-less tank that I got from Moss a few years back, not the type of pickup, obviously, that"s included with the sender on the newer models. I'm making stainless lines, feed and return, for the F.I. system, and I want to take the lines to the local tubing guy to put fittings on. I'm afraid that it's British Pipe Thread, which may be hard for him to come up with, but does anybody know different? Thanks for any help. Joe

Joe,

i bought the fitting from a plumbers supply shop. It is a normed item for water installation and for central heating so it should be easy for you to find something like this.
Another source is would be hydraulics workshop although they do not use fitting made of brass but steel ones that have the same threads too.
If you want to go for stainless steel fittings you should look at Habour Supplies.

hope this helps

Thanks, Ralph. Yes, I want to go totally stainless in anticipation of possible use of gas/alcohol mix in the future. It's odd to me that it wouldn't be a British pipe thread, but that's okay with me. I'll just take the old fitting in and see if he can match it; I've heard that JIC fittings may fit, or maybe our NPT. Joe
