MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - FS or Trade: 1973 MGB V8

I was once a very active on this board, and thanks go out to many of you for helping with my conversion. With the new addition to the family, the BV8 just sits in the garage. It likes (and deserves) to be driven. It hasn't been driven more than 30 or 40 miles in the last 18 months. We did use it as a great Sunday driver before that.

Since pricing something like this is difficult, I am open to offers, but would prefer to either trade or use as partial trade for a 4 seat "sporty" convertible in similar condition. Maybe a BMW 3 Series, or a classic, but there aren't many sporty 4 seat classic convertibles out there. I'd rather not put it up on Ebay, but I guess that is one way to determine Fair Market Value.

Car is located just outside of Charleston, SC. Far more details, and pictures can be found at:

Glenn, it's a tough spot you're in. Hard to see the value when it's just taking up garage space, but once it's gone it may be hard to replace some day.

Have you considered something like a Triumph Stag? Aside from a horrid engine they were a nice car. I doubt it'd be too difficult to change over to a Rover engine. Just something to think about.

But, those of us who have kept the "B" despite all temptations to sell have not regretted it.

Jim,

Thanks for the reply. The Triumph Stag didn't come to mind, but it might work for a 4-seater.

Still fighting with the thought of getting rid of her, but I don't like to see it just taking up space for years at a time either.

It's a relative thing. What seems like a long time now may not seem so long later. Plenty of guys have taken several years getting the conversion done, during which time the car just sat in the garage. My youngest son is now 10 and very much enjoys going for a ride in the car, but for a long time any trips I made with it were solo and most were local. It's a good period for adding any refinements you may have been considering, and occasionally using it to drive to work or such is good therapy.
