MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Flares and Wheels

I am in the process of acquiring the parts to flare the fenders on my lowered 74.5 MGB 3.5 V8. The fenders themselves are almost worked out.
I am now starting the research into wheels. I have talked to a couple of the local tire shops in my small community. They both tell me I need to go with a negative offset. This seems to really limit my choice’s.
What have others done who have gone with a different wheel and wider fenders?

Bruce, I used 15 X 7, zero offset wheels, 245 X 60 X 15 tires, on my gt with sebring flares all around. The wheels are Konig Rewinds and are very similar to old school panasport/minilites, but with a slightly different look.

Hi Bruce,
I have exactly the same challenge as you. I will follow this thread closely. Talking to various people the "norm" seems to be 15" x 7" wheels with a zero to 1/2"(12mm) positive offset.

Thanks Mike and Tony
Looks like 15x7 with 0-1/2" offset is the way to go, and tires to be worked out after the flares are finished.
