MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Fast Cars Block Huggger Headers
I found a link to the V8 conversion seminar held at the last gathering. I see a set of block hugger headers made by Fast Cars. Are these for MGB conversions? They look very good. They also look like they are cast. Any feedback on these items? Will the exhaust route out without the need to cut the inner fenders? Pete

Pete, They are for MGB conversions, with a Ford V8. They will route without cutting holes in the fenders. You can see more about these at http://www.fastcarsinc.com They are stainless steel, custom made by Fast Cars.

I do not believe that these headers are designed for the standard/typical Ford engine mount but are designed around Ted's integral front suspension/Ford engine mount. You would have to confirm the application details with Ted at Fastcars.

Actually, it's made to work on any SB Ford engine, in any car.

You are correct, they are for the 302 conversion. They do stay within the frame rails so there is no need to cut the inner fender wells. I spoke with Ted about the headers and found out that they are quite expensive. He said they were very labor intensive and if I am not mistaken they run about $1800. Steve Carrick has headers that exit thru the fenders. He has a couple of sizes and run 500 and 600. Hope this helps. Garret
