MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Diesel - Oh No!!
Help, Have accidently put about 11litres of diesel in my tank. Dohh. Could anyone give me the correct proceedure for purging the system. Car is a V8 conversion GT with facet pump and fuel regulator and Holley carb. Danny.

D R, you should disconnect the fuel line at the pump and fit a hose of suitable length to the pump with the other end leading into a barrel or something like this. Switch on the ignition and pump the tank dry. Flush the empty tank with 5-10 liters of the cheapest fuel you can buy and pump it out too. Reinstall the fuelline to the pump and fit a new filter to the line, refill and things should be o.k. again. Ralph

Ralph, Thanks a lot for the quick reply. Though that would be enough but just wanted to make sure. Danny.

A little diesel in the gasoline won't be that much of a bother but the other way round for a diesel engine can be fatal. Just a drain and refill should do it. Kelly
