MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Crankshaft seal on sd1 engine

Hello,

I need to put in a new rear crankshaft oil seal on my 3.5 SD1 engine. Is i possible/advisible to mount the seal without slacking off the rear crankshaft bearing?
I noticed that the recomendation is to use a Rover special tool, which I donīt have.

I always fit the rear seal with the cap torqued down.
Put plenty of oil on the lip and carefully push on and tap into place, a bit at a time carefully with a punch.
Never had a problem.
