MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Costell V8 on eBay
In looking at this car on eBay [http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIte....073115656&rd=1,1] I ran across some interesting MGB V8 sites I had not seen before. Since I am a sharing kind of guy and may be considered almost rabid in my love for all British cars, I am sharing my finds. Also, while I like the car on eBay, I wonder how the right hand drive will ultimately affect the sale price (higer or lower here in the USA?). And if anyone is close enough to actually look at this car, it would be interesting to hear from the looker. Once again, it is doing my heart well to see a B V8 bring well over $10,000 as I am certain it will. But I am also certain that a good many of us will never sell our hard earned conversions. So, it's all well and good to see a nice stout price. (I bet this ends up between 15 and 20K, reserve is probably around 10K, but that's a guess). The links are in the reply to this message Richard

I thought the Costello V8s had a big bonnet bulge?

I think the big bonnet bulge was before the intake manifold change. There are a number of people here that know this car & owner. I first saw this car at the 1998 MG V8 Meet in Annapolis, Maryland. Never dreamed that later I would actually meet Ken Costello at, not one, but two of our annual V8 meets. Waaay coool. This is a great car, btw. Not very many Costello roadsters, most were GTs.

I share a garage with the Costello car if you need any info. It was repainted 2(?) years ago to a very high standard and has very classy small flares on the rear fenders done in metal. No rust that I know of, very high quality interior and top. Top is German canvass like the Mercs & Beemers. This is a Mark II Costello and has a single horizontal Webber on a "claw" adapter on top of a modified Rover intake. The carb is at the rear of the engine with the adapter carrying the fuel mixture to the center of the intake. Wheatly had a few of the adapters for sale once upon a time. The engine was rebuilt by Beers in England, a noted MGBV8 racer.
