MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Classic Conversions Coil Over & Wilwood Brake kit
Hi all, If you've ever considered doing a coil over & big brake conversion on your B, I may have an opportunity for you. I bought Bill Guzman's Coil Over & Wilwood Big Brake kit for my car, then later decided to switch to Ted's custom IFS. That decision was an unplanned side effect of moving my motor back further so i could fit some nice brackets, pulleys, AC compressor, evaporator, etc. When i did that, the balancer was interfering with the steering rack & I didn't want to try to lower the rack due to the amount of additional cutting/welding that would have been required on the MG cross member. So, now I have Bill's great kit, but can't use it. I assembled it on my cross member, but it's never been on the road. Functionally brand new. You can get some info on it at Bill's site (www.classicconversionseng.com) or you can see an ad i also posted with a few pictures on the MG Experience board at www.mgexperience.net/phorum/read.php?42,433322 If you're not familiar with it, the kit is very well designed & constructed. It uses adjustable coil overs (Alden's) that allow both firmness & ride height adjustments (up to 2" lowering); it also has +2 to -2 degree camber adjustment which is way better than the fixed 5 degree on the stock MG (5 degree was good for bias ply's; not so good for radials); and, 11 3/4" Wilwood discs & 4-pot dynalite calipers. The hubs i have for it are 5x4.5 (Ford lug pattern), but Bill advised the stock MG hubs work fine as well so it can be used with the MG lug pattern using your existing hubs. And, the kit has a good, thick gloss black powder coat finish on it so it looks great & is easy to clean. I can also send more pics to anyone who wants them. I can sell it any of several ways... - The coil over kit by itself - The coil over & brake kit by themselves - The coil over & brake kit with my 302 modified rubber bumper cross member (if you're doing a 302 swap i also have motor mounts & chassis side towers) - The coil over & brake kit on a chrome bumper cross member (not 302 modified, but i can do that mod if you'd like) I'm not looking to recoup what i paid for this, just a fair price. If you're interested, let me know & we'll work something out. You can reach me at robert.ficalora@hp.com Rob |
