MG MGA - wiper motor

I have an old wiper mootor that I want to hook up too a batery to see if it is still working. There are three wires coming out of the motor. How would they hook up to a batery to see if the motor is still good.

There are 3 wires that attach to the wiper motor 1,2 and E. #1 has the green/black wire and is run through the switch to ground. #2 is the power terminal and gets the green wire. E is earth and gets the black wire.
To test the motor hook up power to the #2 terminal and run a ground to the E or motor body. If the motor is at the park position nothing will happen. Then touch another ground wire to the #1 terminal. The motor should run as long ar #2 is grounded. Once the ground is removed from #2 the motor will run grounded through the E connetion until ground is lost through the park contacts inside the motor.
