MG MGA - Wheel Stuck On Hub
Can't get the wire wheel to come off the hub. Almost like it is welded on. Brake is off, spinner is off and wheel is off the ground but it won't budge. Any suggestions?

If wiggling at 12 and 6 or 3 and 9 o'clock doesn't work, then you could try rolling the car back and forth a few feet in the driveway to see if that loosens it up. Get a good bottle of penetrating oil like Kroil if you think it's rusty. If it's well greased and still stuck, then the splines are biting each other and it'll take mechanical force to separate them. Heat is another option, but might be hard on the chrome. If it's a painted wheel, you could always repaint it. Good luck! JIM in NH

Put the spinner back on, but leave it 1 or 2 turns loose. Then back the car down the driveway turning the wheels left and right as you go. 50-100 ft should do it. Then do the reverse putting the car back. The wheel should loosen up to where it can then be removed.

Going around in a tight circle works too. I had a MGBGT that took several laps in each direction to free. Good luck.
