MG MGA - transmission rebuild kit
| What are your preferred sources of transmission parts for a rebuild? I've searched for rebuild kits, only to find a website out of the UK (AutoGear?) that offers rebuild kits, but there are no blocking rings in the kit. I have a 1600 transmission that I want to rebuild. There's got to be an easier way than making a piece/part shopping list and ordering individual parts, right? |

| Not really. Its not possible to evaluate what you need until its stripped. And you don't want to buy everything that moves! Try Quantumechanics (phone not email). |

| True...You don't want to buy everything that moves... I just did the same job, though, on the T-5 that is in my Jeep CJ. I could easily get a rebuild kit that had the seals, bearings, bushings, blocking rings, snap rings, etc. from one kit P/N. All of these will get replaced on the MGA too, I imagine (or their equivalent pieces). I'll make my inventory list this week from researching rebuild links and exploring the tranny in the workshop.
