MG MGA - tie rod-tie rod end problem--B suspension
I've switched my 59 A's suspension to B parts, except for the A tie rod and tie rod end, which are original. The problem is that the tie rod end only screws about halfway up the tie rod before it binds (see picture). I suspect that the steering levers must be swapped to their opposite sides to solve the problem. Is this the correct solution? Thanks! --Jack

Barney has a write up on his site... IIRC, the MGA tie rod ends are too long and have to be cut to length. JIM in NH

Yup. MGB steering arms are different shape requiring the tire rod ends to be closer together. Cut about 1/2 inch off the end of the tie rod, and use a 5/8-18-UNF threading die to run the thread up the rod about 1/2 inch farther.
