MG MGA - Rebuilding steel side curtains
| Have some side curtain questions. First, I believe that I have a pair of original steel frame side curtains? They have been modified with the addition of a flat steel bar and rubber strip on the outside bottom. Also a broad soft rubber strip has been glued to the frame top and rear channel. Other than some surface rust the frames appear to be in good shape. I am looking at purchasing parts from Clark Spares to begin rebuilding the pair. My CS catalog is several years old, but shows new parts for the fixed and sliding plastic windows, a brace to hold in the fixed plastic pane (not sure if I would need this part?), felt u channel, anti-blow out bracket and rivet kit. It looks like I would need to fashion my own bottom sealing flap. Any thoughts on rebuilding or sourcing parts would be appreciated. John

| John, just send your picture to Todd Clarke, and he will respond to your questions. |

| I was speaking to Todd a few months ago and he said he was hoping to be in a position later this year to offer a refurbishing service for the later fabric covered screens. He has already made available pattern plans to help make up the new covering ($8) and he now sells the nickel plated brass grommets which go in the bottom to drain out the channel when it rains. I believe the brackets were originally painted the same colour as the hood frame unlike the aluminium frames where they were chrome plated.....Mike |

| I too want to buy a set of metal fixing brackets for my aluminium framed side screens. Any idea who sells such items? Frank |
