MG MGA - Melamine foam for cleaning chrome and glass

My wife has been expounding the properties of melamine foam (Magic Eraser) for cleaning around the house for few years now and I have eventually tried it on my MGA. It is fantastic, easy to use - just cut off a small piece, dip in water and give your chrome and glass a quick rub - wipe dry with a chamois or paper cloth - job done. Have others tried this material?

I have never used it on a car before Mike,thought it might scratch something.But after reading the above I'll give it a try on the everyday driver first
