MG MGA - Last drive of the oh-so-brief summer
Got a chance to take the MG out for a nice drive this afternoon/evening to a family reunion and back. So far this year, those of us in the Pacific Northwest of the US have had about three weeks of what we can charitably call summer. Not one day above 80 (F) this year, and it already feels like fall. I'm going in to have reconstructive surgery on my left foot in two weeks, which will leave me in a cast for 2-3 months, so this is probably the last drive of the year. ...But it was GLORIOUS! :-)

David, Sorry to hear about the foot and the poor summer weather. We here in the Northeast have had an amazingly good one. I am really looking forward to taking the MG to the Watkins Glen Vintage Festival Sept 9-11. Sounds like you will have something else to look forward to around that time. Best of luck and a speedy recovery. Gerry

As my restoration won't be completed until next spring, I haven't minded the crummy NW weather as it has kept my wife from complaining about not having the car to ride in! I do feel for those of you who have running MGAs in the area, maybe we'll have a mild fall to make up for the lack of summer. David, I hope your surgery goes well and your recovery is short. Larry

Thanks for the kind words about the surgery, guys. It's to correct a misalignment between my leg and foot, so if all goes according to plan I'll be able to walk more than a mile again without a lot of pain.
