MG MGA - Front/rear anti roll/sway add ons?
| Has anyone installed one of these? One is rear mounted, the other is front mounted. Addco 271 REAR Anti Sway Bar Stabilizer Roll, currently listing on US ebay. There is also an Oz FRONT version from MG spare Parts , currently listed on Oz ebay ( MGA 3/4" COMPETITION SWAY BAR KIT) Am curious as to which is the better performer in regards to stability and handling etc? Thanks |

| Front sway bar is a very good accessory, best bang for the buck for improved handling. Never install a rear sway bar on an MGA or a chrome bumper MGB, unless you are lowering the suspension and doing a race car set up. For a race car the rear bar may or may not be useful depending on spring rates, but usually not needed even then. The rear leaf springs are too stiff to begin with, so installing a rear sway bar only serves to lift the inside rear tire off the pavement causing seriously bad over steer in a high speed turn. It looks like this picture.

| Mark..the front 3/4in bar was the best addition to my car..made a tremendous difference. She goes around the corner flat to the road. I bought the same one as you ref on ebay and it was easy to fit... about 3 hrs. There is another one available and cheaper..also in Oz. It was referenced in another recent thread. |
