MG MGA - Fixing number plates
| I recently bought a pair of number plates and they look so good I'm not keen on drilling holes in them. Has anyone used the self-adhesive pads to fix their plates and how do they stand up to the weather, etc.? Seem a bit risky to me....................Mike |

| I used the thick sticky pads from Halfords to fix mine and they have not failed in about three years and seven thousand miles of rain, shine, hot and cold. My backing plates are stainless steel and the number plates are embossed aluminium. If you stick them to a painted surface, you would have to be sure that the paint was well and truly stuck to the metal. If you are in any doubt, use the black plastic bolts to fix them, they will look just as good and probably more authentic. |
