MG MGA - Fiero seats

I've have a lead on some Fiero seats as an alternative to my existing B seats in my MGA.

Anyone had experience with these seats and more importantly will they fit?

Thanks

In my experience they are too wide to fit the MGA although they do fit in an MGB which has a bit more room. The MGA frame swings in a bit too soon at the rear of the cockpit to allow the use of the Fiero seats.

What will work are Miata seats, at least those from the early years. You have to swap them side for side so the adjusters are next to the tunnel (they also foul the frame) and cut a hole in the floor to drop them into, but it can be done. Very comfortable - I use them in my Jamaican bodied MGA.

Thanks for the feedback. I've heard about the Miata (MX5 in Aus)and they seem to be the way to go as replacement seats.

What exactly do you mean when you say to "cut a hole in the floor to drop them in to". Sounds a bit drastic to me.

I've read about the relative ease at the changeover but never any mention of floor cutting.

I'm off to the UK on Monday so will keep a look out for some seats while over there. Any of the English contibuters know of any sources?

Thanks

I have a novel idea:

Why not try a set of MGA seats? I have a set in my car. They sport classic styling, leather wearing surfaces, and look right in place in the classic MG.

Safety fast!
